The Pax Christi community at Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills celebrated the Feast of St. Francis with their annual Peace Festival, October 1-4. The week included an Exhibition Hall full of information, art, and activities on peace from the school’s 1,600 students. There also was a Peace Rally, which included songs a rally speech and prayer for peace. David and Sharon Hoover presented a production of St. Francis: Face to Face on Wednesday, and on Thursday there was a Mass celebrating Francis in which students presented the story of St. Francis and the Leper using large, homemade puppets. The whole week celebrated the call to peace, the rejection of violence, and example of St. Francis. How wonderful it was to see so many people growing in awareness of the vision of Pax Christi.
