Angel Interfaith Network News, October 2014

It’s here. October is the time for Angel Interfaith Network’s Harvest of Love. All over the network, people just like you are doing something big or something small to raise the money that allows AIN to serve patients and families identified by chaplains, social workers and medical staff at LAC + USC Medical Network.

For information on the Harvest of Love click the link below. Your support will help AIN served families like Melissa’s and Adriana’s—their stories are below. Our goal is $20,000. We can do that only with your help. Please do your part to make this fundraiser our most successful ever!

AIN-news-2014-10-bMelissa and her husband returned to Los Angeles after she was discharged from the army. They moved here to be near her extended family who can help with the twin boys Melissa and her husband are expecting. Their social worker requested a baby basket, extra pampers and a crib. We were happy to help this veteran and her growing family.
AIN-news-2014-10-cAdriana is the sole provider for herself and her two children. She is newly diagnosed with cancer and unable to work at this time. She was distraught at her diagnosis, mostly fearful for her family’s economic survival. AIN was able to tap into our emergency fund to help with rent and some food coupons. Adriana was so relieved and grateful for the assistance that will tide her family over until she can figure out what comes next.

Other needs: We still need sweats, socks and men’s clothing for the emergency room. We regularly spend all our food certificate allotment, so Ralphs/Food4Less gift cards are always welcome.
